The next son went to see the tree later in the spring. By then, it was covered with red buds.
When the third son went to the forest later, the tree was covered with only green leaves. He thought it strange that anyone would call it the Red-Bud Tree.
Finally, it was the youngest prince’s turn. By this time, the tree was covered with little bean pods (豆荚). When he came back from the forest, he ran into the garden where his brothers were playing. “I’ve seen the Red-Bud Tree,” he cried. “So have I,” said the eldest prince. “But the black and bare plant did not look like much of a tree to me.” “What makes you say that?” said the second son. “The tree has hundreds of beautiful red buds…” The third prince interrupted (打断) him at once, “Did you say red buds? It has only green leaves.” The youngest prince laughed at his brothers and said “You’re all wrong. I have just seen it. It is not like a dead tree. It has neither red buds nor green leaves on it. It is covered with little bean pods.”

Artificial intelligence (AI) is changing how we manage (管理) water. AI helps us use water smartly and keeps it safe.
In water management, AI helps us guess how much water people will need. For example, if a city is facing a hot summer, AI can guess that people will use more water for their gardens and pools. AI can make well guess about future water needs by looking at past information, such as weather changes and how much water people used before. This helps water workers plan better and use water carefully.
AI also helps find leaks in water pipes. If there is a small hole in a pipe under the street, AI can find it with special tools to stop the water running out. Fixing leaks quickly is important because it saves water and money. For example, Shanghai uses AI to find leaks and saves a lot of water every year.
AI is helpful in another way by checking water quality. AI can test water samples (样品) to see if the water is clean or harmful. This helps make sure that drinking water is safe for everyone. A town can use AI to check its drinking water every day to make sure it is clean.
However, there are some problems with using AI in water management. It can be costly to set up, and workers need training to use these systems. It is also very important to keep water data (数据) safe from bad people.
As AI gets better, it can help us manage water more effectively. With good planning, AI can make water use smarter and safer for the future.
27.In which ways can AI help us manage water?
①guess water needs ②find leaks ③check water quality ④keep water data safe
A.①②③ B.②④③ C.①②④ D.①③④
28.What does the underlined word “leaks” mean in Paragraph 3?
A.A machine to get water. B.A way to clean water.
C.A way to check water levels. D.A small hole to let water run out.
29.How does the writer develop Paragraphs 2 and 3?
A.By listing numbers. B.By telling stories.
C.By showing examples. D.By comparing facts.
30.What is the writer’s attitude (态度) towards AI in water management?
A.He dislikes it. B.He supports it.
C.He is not sure about it. D.He is curious about it.
