Humans have dreamed about flying cars for a long time and finally they are being made. A German company is making the Lilium Jet(喷气式飞机)—the first fast, inexpensive, and environmentally friendly jet for personal use.

The pros (赞成理由) of this jet are that it doesn’t use much space and is quiet. It’s made so that it doesn’t need an airport, which is big and noisy. It’s also very good for people who live far from an airport. Last, flying it and getting a license (执照) are not difficult.

The jet can carry two people and fly as fast as 400 km/h. It can fly up to 9,900 feet high, and travel as far as 310 miles. For taking off and landing, it only needs a small area, so you can park it in your yard. Once in your yard, it can be charged (充电) from your house.

Since one of the goals of the jet is to be environmentally friendly, it is 100% electric. So it is a lot quieter and cleaner. The jet has 36 fans (风扇). Even if several die, it can still fly.

To fly the jet, you only need 20—30 hours of training. The price of the jet will be about 340, 000 USD.However, it can only be used during daytime hours in fair weather.

Tim: Saturday, January 7th

I’m writing a paper for my research report, and need some ideas. What do you think is the most useful invention of all? Thanks for your ideas.

Jane: Saturday, January 7th

For an everyday and useful invention, I think it’s the air-conditioner. I live in Shenzhen, and during summer, the temperature reaches 35℃ or more. It’s terrible! Without air-conditioners, people here can’t work or study.

Yukio: Saturday, January 7th

The most useful invention is the Internet. We can communicate with people and do business faster. I own a clothing store in Tokyo. I also have a website. Now, people from all over the world can buy my clothes on the Internet. I can keep in touch with friends and family in Japan and around the world by using emails.

Ann: Sunday, January 8th

I agree the Internet is useful. But, in my opinion, there’s an invention that is more useful—electricity. Without electricity, many of the world’s important inventions wouldn’t work. You see, we can’t chat with each other now.

参考答案

1.D

【详解】句意:收音机是由古列尔莫·马可尼于1895年发明的。

考查介词辨析。with和……

根据“advises me ... an art teacher”可知考查advise sb to do sth“建议某人做某事” ,其中to do为不定式,作宾语补足语。故选D。
